He's already lost his parents and the closest thing to a father he's ever known. What could he possibly lose to make his ties to the world thin enough not to fear death? Ron, of course. The thing he would most miss according to whoever did the choosing of the hostages for the second task of the Triwizard Tournament.

I know that Galadriel Waters writes about this in her books too, but since I haven't read them, I can't make any parallels. I could repeat all the HP Sleuth arguments regarding Ron, jokes and fortune telling, but since it's already online, I'll just refer you to the HP Sleuth page instead.
To the point. In OotP, Ron makes a very stupid joke indeed: "And from now on, I don't care if my tea-leaves spell die, Ron, die - I'm just chucking them in the bin where they belong" (p. 633). What bothers me here is not only that it's one of Ron's jokes, but that the "die, Ron, die" is emphasised by being put in italics. JKR could have not done this. She could have used quotation marks instead, or nothing at all for that matter. Also, the word "die" is duplicated and put around the word "Ron", surrounding it. It doesn't look too good

Chaz sighed as he sad there... his head hurt and he didn't really want to talk to anyone, but he went to breakfast anyway.

Eruka wondered what the hell she ws doing in the library! She walked to the lake insted.
When Erika saw Harry and Ron, she walked down to the Great Hall, and took a random seat, near the Hufflepuff table...but still sitting at the Griffindor table.
MedievalHoboBob: Shirie nodded. "Yeah."
Chaz was already there, lying on the grass, thinking.
Ambere put her book away, watching this little scene.

Eruka sat down, and stared blankly at the lake.
Erika sat down, not knowing what she was doing there, really.

Chaz didn't seem to notice, sighing.

She's Loony...Loony Lovegood...ha ha ha..." ...."Hey!" said Ron, who had staggered to his feet and was now tottering drunkenly toward Harry, giggling. "Hey, Harry, there are brains in here, ha ha ha, isn't that weird, Harry?" "Ron, get out of the way, get down-" But Ron had already pointed his wand at the tank. "Honest, Harry, they're brains - look - Accio Brain!" The scene seemed momentarily frozen. Harry, Ginny, and Nevill and each of the Death Eaters turned in spite of themselves to watch the top of the tank as a brain burst from the liquid like a leaping fish. For a moment it seemed suspened in midair, then it soared toward Ron, spinning as it came, and what looked like ribbons of moving images flew from it, unravling like rolls of film- "Ha ha ha, Harry look at it-" said Ron, watching it disgorge its gaudy innards, "Harry, come on and touch it, I bet it's weird-" "RON NO!" He darted forward, but Ron had already caught the brain in his outstreched hands.

MedievalHoboBob: Ambere noticed Ron's interesting expression. "What?"
Shirie smirked. "Sooooo."
Chaz glanced over at her, then looked at the lake.

AmandaPaigeIsMe: Ron continued to stare at Shirie and Lathio, not noticing Ambere.
Lathio kissed her cheek, "Yep."
Eruka lay back down, sighing.

Shirie blushed and smiled. "Heheh."
Chaz sighed. "Sorry if I scared you."

Eruka shook her head, "You didn't." She replied, closing her eyes.
MedievalHoboBob: "What's the matter?" Ambere asked, furrowing her brows a little in confusion.
Shirie hugged him.
Chaz nodded. "Good."

Lathio smirked, thinking about things that you shouldn't think about when you haven't even went on a date with this person...hehe

Chaz looked over at her and couldn't help but smile slightly.
